Mean while life, of course continues. We were invited to take part in the national tree planting day, which, given our passion for trees was very tempting. But then we thought about it the site was quite a distance away from here. So just how many trees would we have had to have planted to counter act the amount of carbon Dora would have produced to get us there... hmmm
So instead to celebrate Robert very kindly dug up a couple of their Lilly Pilly seedlings and we planted those instead on the block
With the excitement of the build there have been a few things that we've come across I've neglected to write about.
Firstly I'd like to introduce one of more furry neighbours, the lovely Tess, so gentle natured. She very often wonders on to the block to say a waggy G'day to us. There is nothing nicer than having a good scratch... I am talking from Tess's point of view here. She sings and talks to us when we make a fuss of her. Fred isn't to keen for us to share our affections but Tess just ignores him.
The other day she arrived with what could be mistaken as a very excited white fluffy duster. It turned out to be Holly, a very fast white poodle type of dog. Couldn't take a picture as she didn't stand still long enough!
Recycled Wire Gallery at KiKi
On our many drives to an fro to Adelaide we pass through a tiny town called Kiki and by a Recycled Wire Gallery. We had always wanted to stop for a look and eventually made the time to do so.
The couple who ran the place were a very interesting couple from New Zealand. They spent many hours collecting abandoned rubbish and turning into fantastic art. If nothing else these pieces did make you smile. Broken mirrors were re-framed using barbed wire and tiny scenes scratched onto them. A herd of chicken wire elephants stood proudly in the back yard. A water fall was made using an old shower. It was amazing,we are truly only limited by our imaginations.
We'd certainly give homes to a few of the items for sale. The only thing which really didn't take my fancy was the huge wire spider placed on the ceiling.
And lastly on the way to the block the other day we came across this flock being moved. The farmer was in his UTE following them and shouting the occasional direction to his Kelpie who was doing a grand job driving them up the road. It was a great sight seeing how they were working together.
